Where can I find supplies of Nutricia product if there’s no stock due to coronavirus and stockpiling?
Due to the current high demand for baby formula products, some retailers are experiencing shortages of our products in their stores. Naturally, we are concerned to hear that parents are not able to purchase our products and would like to offer our support.
At the moment, we have good supplies of our baby formula products, and we are sending out regular, daily supplies to all retailers and pharmacists. So, you should be able to find your products when shelves are replenished. We suggest trying local pharmacies and independent stores as they have lower footfall.
Behind the scenes, we are working hard with retailers and pharmacists to ensure that supplies get to store as fast as we can.
If you are not able to find your usual formula products, ask the pharmacist for advice and you can consider the following options:
For babies 0-6 months, who are combination or bottle-fed: As you know, breastmilk is the ideal food for babies and the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months. In case of difficulties to find your usual product, you can consider increasing breastfeeding.
If you cannot breastfeed, although the usual recommendation is to stay with one brand, you can change if necessary, provided you chose an equivalent product (i.e. same age stage, same formula type etc.). You should not use follow-on formulas (from 6-12 months), growing up milks (from 1-3 years), cow’s milk or vegetable milk for babies under 6 months.

The WHO recommends breastfeeding for up to two years complemented with foods. In case of difficulties to find your usual product, you can consider increasing breastfeeding.
If you cannot breastfeed, you can use most baby formulas labelled suitable from birth or follow-on formulas (from 6-12 months) in powder (excluding specialist formulas unless appropriate for your baby’s circumstances). You should not use growing up milks, cow’s milk or vegetable milk for babies under 12 months.

You can use growing up milks (from 1 to 3 years) or follow-on formulas (from 6-12 months). Cow’s milk or vegetable milk are not recommended.

Always consult your doctor, midwife or healthcare professional for advice about feeding your baby, including the use of a new product. If your child has an allergy or intolerance to cow’s milk or other specific dietary needs or feeding problems, call a healthcare professional. They can advise you on suitable alternatives.
When introducing a new formula, we recommend that you do so gradually for ease of transition. Therefore, switch from one formula to the other gradually, bottle by bottle, if possible (replace one bottle per meal each day with the new formula, so that your baby can get used to the new formula). However, every baby is different, and some babies may experience settling issues when changing products due to slightly different tastes, textures and composition. This is normal, and any symptoms should be minimal and temporary (such as changes in stool frequency and colour).
We do understand that this situation is causing anxiety for parents and would like to assure that we are doing everything we can to get adequate supplies out. To help other parents, please only buy what you and your family need. If we all do this then we can make sure we have enough for everyone.

What if my baby is using your specialist products and I can’t find supplies?
We continue to have a good supply of these products and are sending out regular, daily supplies. However, if you cannot find your usual product, we recommend you speak to your healthcare professional.

We’re sorry to hear that anyone is having difficulties finding their usual products. We know many families rely on our products, so keeping them available is a priority.
At the moment we are sending out regular, daily supplies to all retailers and pharmacists. So, you should be able to find your formula products when shelves are replenished. Our carelines can also help you locate points of sale for the products you are looking for but won’t be able to send products directly.
